I Can't Upload Images or Other Files

It can be pretty frustrating to be working away on a site and suddenly find yourself unable to upload images or files.  How can you fix the problem if you find yourself in this predicament?

The first thing to keep in mind if you are unable to upload images (or are seeing a -220 error) is that this is not being caused by an error in your account.  Problems like this are almost always caused by something on your computer blocking access to our uploader.

With that said, here are the steps to take if you seem unable to upload images or other files to your site.

1 - Find out the size of the file.

Users can't upload individual files larger than 250mb in size.  If you're over the limit, the upload won't go through.

2 - Try clearing your browser cache.

This is the classic cure-all for browser problems and it does sometimes help in this situation.   You should clear the cache, close the browser, re-open the browser and log back in to Weebly.  If you're not sure how to clear your browser cache, see here:

http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser-Cache

3 - Check to see if the browser is set to block ads.

If you have an Ad Blocker extension turned on, then turn it off and try the upload again.  Since our uploader uses flash, some ad blockers might block it.

4 - Switch to another browser.

See if you can complete the upload from browser other than the one you're using now.  If you're using Internet Explorer switch to Firefox, if you're using Firefox switch to Safari, and so on from there.

If another browser works, then you have a temporary solution while you try to get everything working properly in the first browser.  If it didn't work, well, at least it wasn't too much work to try this one.

If you're not sure which browser you're using or how to download another free browser, take a look at this great site from Google:

whatbrowser.org

Any browser shown on that page will work perfectly with Weebly aside from Opera (which is represented by a big red O).

5 - Check anti-virus / firewall / network security.

Try disabling your firewall or network security to see if that helps.  If it does. then you'll want to white list weebly.com in this program so it's exempt from the security checks.
